You will be picked up at the Hanoi airport on Day 1 and taken to breathtaking Halong Bay for a boat adventure on Days 2&3. Eat a homemade meal with a local family on Day 4 before taking a flight to Hue to see the city’s ancient pagodas and tombs on Day 5. Take a bus to charming Hoi An on Day 6 and discover the countryside by bike on Day 7. On Day 8 fly to Nha Trang for a snorkelling adventure on Day 9. Take a shuttle to Dalat and discover the area by motorcycle on Day 10. Fly to Ho Chi Minh City on Day 11 and explore the Mekong Delta on Days 12&13 before taking a bus to Phnom Penh on Day 14. Tour the Killing Fields and Prison S21 on Day 15 before transferring to Siem Reap on Day 16 to see the stunning temples of Angkor Wat on Day 17. Fly to Bangkok on Day 18 and discover the vibrant city by bike on Day 19 before ending your adventure with a Bangkok airport drop-off on Day 20.


Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi Airport Pick-Up

Today you will be picked up at the Hanoi airport upon arrival and transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Hanoi.


Day 2: Hanoi - Halong Bay (L/D)

You will be picked up between 7.45 - 8.15 am at your hostel/hotel (pick up times can vary slightly depending on whether you are the first clients or last clients to be picked up). We will drive you about 3 and a half hours to Halong City. We will have a short break for 20 minutes half way. By 11.30 am, our crew will welcome you on board with drinks and a delicious fresh seafood lunch. You will check in your cabins and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing karsts with different formations such as Lion, Tea Pot, Toad island. Then we will stop to visit the Sung Sot or Amazing Cave, the biggest one in Halong Bay. Later on, you'll have a plenty of time for swimming, kayaking and sunbathing. You'll also have chance to enjoy a wonderful sunset. Following dinner, you'll retire to the comfort of your cabins.


Day 3: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B/L)

If you like to enjoy the sunrise on Halong Bay, please get up early at about 6.30 am. You'll have breakfast at 7.30 am when your boat starts cruising around Halong Bay. After a short cruise, we will come back to Halong City where you will enjoy delicious lunch in the restaurant. After lunch we make our way back to Hanoi arriving at about 16.00 pm.


Day 4: Vietnamese Lunch with Local Family - Flight to Hue (L)

Today you will have the morning free to explore the city on your own, and later in the early afternoon have a meal with a local Vietnamese Family. Meet a real Vietnamese host and dine in their own house, you’ll experience the daily local food. What to expect? Think gourd and shrimp soup, fried fish with fish sauce or caramel pork with a healthy side of steamed vegetables and so much more! All our hosts can personalize their menu to meet your preferences.

After your meal, you will be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue you’ll be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check-in and overnight.


Day 5: Hue Tombs & Pagoda Day Trip (L)

Today you will make your way to the meeting point at around 7:00 am to depart for the Tombs & Pagoda Day Trip. We first bring you to the impressive Khai Dinh Tomb. Khai Dinh was an important Vietnamese emperor who ascended the throne in 1916 and died in 1925. Then we will watch a performance of the fascinating martial art called Vo Kinh Van An. We continue to the Tu Duc Tomb which was completed in 1867.  Walk around the extensive gardens filled with huge stone temples and structures, rivers and a reflection lake imagining what splendid life was lived here by the faithful Tu Duc court.  Our final pit stop before lunch is visiting a village where incense making and conical hat making has become their speciality.

For lunch, we will have a delicious buffet of Vietnamese, Asian and Western dishes. After lunch, at about 1:30 pm, we will continue with the tour to the Citadel of Hue, which was built by the emperor Gia Long in 1804.  It’s also known in Vietnamese as the Forbidden Purple City, a term similar to the Forbidden City of Beijing. Our next stop is the Thien Mu Pagoda, which is Vietnam’s tallest pagoda. It has an iconic status in Hue and it is known as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital. The way back to Hue will be on a boat down the beautiful Perfume River, where you will see local fishermen and traditional villages. Overnight in Hue.


Day 6: Bus Hue to Hoi An

Today you will travel from Hue to Hoi An, a charming riverside town in the central region of Vietnam. On arrival check-in your accommodation and overnight.


Day 7: Hoi An Bicycle Day Trip (L)

This morning you will be picked up at your accommodation to go pick out a bike before heading out on your unforgettable day tour to Cam Kim island. We will cross the Thu Bon river along with plenty of locals heading to school or to the central market. Here we will make a stop in the Kim Bong carpentry village and take a look at the fishing boat builders on the riverbank. Here there are several families famous for generations of boatmaking and carpentry. They also contributed in building Hoi An's beautiful wooden houses for Chinese and Japanese traders that make the town such a charming destination today.

Leaving the town, we will cycle past a scenic rice field and small river branches where you can see large fishing nets hanging over the water. We will visit a family on a small local island to see the most common local occupation: weaving sleeping mats, a tradition hundreds of years old.

Finally, we will cycle through the tranquil countryside to another family's house for a homemade local lunch. After a great meal with even better company, we will cycle back to town. After returning your bike you will be dropped off at your hostel in the afternoon. Overnight in Hoi An.


Day 8: Shuttle Hoi An to Danang & Flight Danang to Nha Trang

Today you will be picked up at your Hoi An accommodation and transferred Danang, where you will be dropped off at the airport for a quick flight to the beachside paradise of Nha Trang. Upon arrival in Nha Trang you’ll be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Nha Trang.


Day 9: Snorkelling Day Trip & Bus Nha Trang to Dalat (L)

You will be picked up from your accommodation around 7:30-7:45 this morning and transferred to the Cau Da pier to begin your snorkelling adventure. We will board the boat and dead to Hòn Mun (Mun Island), Vietnam’s first marine reserve park. The reserve accommodates more than 350 types of marine species and corals, making it the ideal snorkelling location. Check out two different areas in this pristine park before enjoying a box lunch and heading back to land.

After your snorkelling adventure you’ll head to the bus station to catch your transfer to the charming town of Dalat tucked into the Vietnamese highlands. Please make your own way to your accommodation for check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Dalat.


Day 10: Countryside Motorcycle Adventure

Take an exciting motorcycle tour around Dalat with an English speaking driver/guide. Ride on the back of a motorcycle to admire the beauty of this region filled with natural wonders such as lakes, waterfalls, lush green forests and floral gardens. Take a break at the Truc Lam meditation center and see the beautiful Paradise lake, Elephant waterfall and Linh An pagoda. Immerse yourself in the local way of life at a Chicken minority village (K'ho people) and learn about the local industry as we stop by a vegetable farm, a mushroom farm, a coffee farm and a silk factory. Arrive back to Dalat around 16:00 pm.


Day 11: Flight Dalat to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Today you will be picked up at your accommodation and transferred to the airport to catch your included flight to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s biggest metropolis. Upon arrival you’ll be picked up at the airport and transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.


Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) - Ben Tre - Can Tho  (L/D)

We will first make our way to Ben Tre, where we should arrive around 9:30 am. There we will take a little boat ride through the labyrinth of little canals that make the Mekong Delta. After that, we will drive to nearby villages and you can see first hand how villagers tend their rice fields and their vegetable gardens. You will also visit a family and see how they earn a living by making rice paper and coconut candy. We will have a delicious Vietnamese lunch by the riverside.

After lunch we will take the boat back through the canals to Ben Tre. At about 3:00 pm, we will drive to interesting locations such as Rach Mieu, My Thuan and Can Tho Bridge, before arriving in Can Tho. In Can Tho you will have free time to sightsee. There will also be a bus transfer to Ninh Kieu wharf and back to the hotel. We will spend the night in Can Tho.


Day 13: Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market - Vinh Long Market - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)  (B)

We will have an early breakfast at 6:00 am and then depart about 7.00 am. We will get on a motorboat and will first visit Cai Rang, where the biggest and most colourful floating market on the Mekong takes place. You will see how hundreds of little boats congregate to sell their fruits, vegetables, plants, and food. After enjoying this smorgasbord of vendors, we will continue with a motorboat along narrow leafy canals to a local orchard where we will taste some tropical fruit. We will return to our hotel at around 10:30 am and you will have free time to sightsee or cycle around. After checking out of your hotel at noon, you will have lunch (not included). Afterwards, we will slowly make our way back to Ho Chi Minh City. But before, we will make a quick stop at Vinh Long Market. We will be back in Ho Chi Minh City at approximately 6:00 pm. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.


Day 14: Bus Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh

Today you will make your own way to the bus station to catch your transfer to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. Upon arrival to the bus station please make your own way to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Phnom Penh.


Day 15: Killing Fields & Prison S21 Tour

Get picked up and start your intriguing tour to the S21 Prison and the Killing Fields. Visit the Genocide Museum, also known as Prison S21 under Khmer Rouge regime. An audio-guide will help you learn about some basic insights at this prison. The prison is composed of 4 buildings, and there are different exhibitions on different floors / rooms. Two prison survivors sometimes come to the museum and talk to the visitors.

You will also visit the Killing Fields, about a 40 minute drive away from the Phnom Penh city center. Upon arrival you will receive an Audio Tour with headphones and a control device with numbered buttons. You can follow the map provided and start the Audio Tour. Then we will make the return trip and you will be dropped off at your accommodation. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

A bit of history...The Killing Fields is the name given to numerous burial sites in Cambodia where huge numbers of people were killed and buried by the infamous Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979. Over 20,000 mass grave sites have been found across Cambodia, estimates place the number of dead between 2 and 4 million. Many of these deaths were as a result of the Khmer Rouge policies that resulted in the disease and starvation of much of its population.The S21 Security Prison, also known as Tuol Sleng, is where an estimated 17,000 people were imprisoned between 1975 - 1979. They were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, brought to S21, tortured and eventually killed. In 1979, the prison was uncovered by the invading Vietnamese army who toppled the Khmer Rouge and its leader, Pol Pot. In 1980, the prison was reopened by the government of the People's Republic of Kampuchea as a historical museum.


Day 16: Shuttle Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

Today you will be picked up at your accommodation in Phnom Penh and transferred to Siem Reap where you will check into your new accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Siem Reap.


Day 17: Angkor Wat Day Tour

You will be picked up in the morning and you will first visit the Angkor Thom complex. Bayon temple, with 54 towers and 216 faces of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, is the highlight of all the temples in the center of Angkor Thom City. Then we continue to visit several other historic sites such as Baphuon, the Ancient Royal Palace, the Elephant terrace and Ta Prohm temple. Ta Prohm temple is the temple where gigantic tree roots have grown that was made famous by the Hollywood film "Tomb Raider" starring Angelina Jolie.

Before we continue to other interesting sites, we will have lunch. After lunch, we will see the temple of Angkor Wat which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage since 1992. Finally we continue to Phnom Bakheng to enjoy watching sunset. After the sunset, we will drive you back to your accommodation. Overnight in Siem Reap.

**Please be reminded that short dresses, short pants and tank tops or singlets are not allowed in some temples.


Day 18: Flight Siem Reap to Bangkok

Today you will be picked up at your accommodation and transferred to the airport for your included flight to Bangkok, Thailand. Upon arrival you’ll be picked up at the airport and transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, get settled in, and check out some of the world’s most vibrant night life. Overnight in Bangkok.


Day 19: Bangkok Bike Explorer

Morning Tour (08:00 - 12:00 hrs) or Afternoon Tour (13:00 - 17:00 hrs)

Get to know the lively city streets of Bangkok bustling with street vendors, shops and multitudes of people rushing to and from during their busy work day. Your tour begins at the office where you will get geared up with your bike and meet your guide for the tour. Head off into the busy city of Bangkok and peek into the lives of local city dwellers by riding across wooden bridges and through squatter settlements nestled under highways and near railroad tracks. Get a feel for the daily habits and rituals of locals throughout the city.

Enjoy a refreshing drink stop before cycling to the pier where you will board a longtail boat with your bike and cross the Chao Phraya River to reach Bangkok's green heart. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind as you cycle through beautiful lush green natural areas on elevated pathways, an area that was once home to old plantations. Observe the contrasts of this great city as you keep an eye out for the occasional sunbathing turtle or skittish lizard.

Stop to rest up with another cold drink and snack before returning to the longtail boat. Enjoy the view of Bangkok's skyline as you ride back across the river after an invigorating morning tour. Cycle back to the office where your tour will come to an end.  (Approximately 13 - 16 kilometres in total).

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and overnight in Bangkok.


Day 20: Bangkok Airport Drop-Off

All good things must end. Today you’ll be transferred to the Bangkok airport for your departing flight. Happy trails!
